The Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) held the final formal meeting of the Medicaid Appeals Workgroup on Tuesday October 31st, 2017. At that meeting, members of the Workgroup voted unanimously to simplify the draft report and amend it to consist of: an introduction and the proposed action steps, with the minutes of all Workgroup meetings added as appendices. The Workgroup requested the amended report be posted on the Virginia Regulatory Town Hall by November 3rd. The Workgroup requested that the posting be open to public comment from November 3rd to November 8th. Finally, the Workgroup requested that DMAS incorporate all comments submitted, finalize the report and submit it to the General Assembly by the December 1st due date.
