Legal Notice

Mathews County Wetlands Board hereby gives notice that on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at 7 PM, in the Mathews County Historic Courthouse, 27 Court Street, Mathews VA; the Board will hold public hearings regarding requests for authorization of the following applications:

William L. Madision, III, 2531 Buckley Hall Road, VMRC 26-0814, TM# 4-12-E - Request to install 174 LF of Rip-Rap Revetment with Class I Armor Stone, a buried toe will be installed for stability, along a portion of the Piankatank River shoreline.

Oscar I. Harris, Jr., 348 Bayside Drive, VMRC 26-1389, TM# 39-4-5 – Request to install a marsh toe sill 45’Lx6’Wx3’H with Class I Armor Stone, remove existing boat ramp, and cover with 160 sq. ft. of Class I Armor Stone to provide continuous revetment, along a portion of the Mobjack Bay shoreline.   

Interested parties are invited to attend the meeting.  Applications may be reviewed at the Mathews County Wetlands Board office, located in the County Administration Building, 50 Brickbat Road, Mathews VA, Monday-Friday, 8:30 am-4:30 pm or online at https://webapps.mrc.virginia.gov/public/habitat/index.php.
