Pursuant to Section 4.1-119(J) of the Code of Virginia, the Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Authority (Virginia ABC) is providing public notice of a ± $0.02 price differential change for distilled spirits and other products sold by Virginia ABC.  The change is in response to the nationwide penny shortage and may, in limited instances, result in an increase or decrease in the retail price of distilled spirits and other products sold to the public when paid for using cash.  Virginia ABC is seeking public comment regarding this change, and will also hold a public meeting on January 15, 2026, at their headquarters located at 7450 Freight Way, Mechanicsville, Virginia 23116 to receive and consider verbal comment on the proposed change.  The tentative date for implementation of the change is February 1, 2026.
