Purpose of the meeting This is a meeting of the Steering Committee for the Woods Creek Watershed Bacteria Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) Implementation Plan development project. The Woods Creek watershed includes parts of Rockbridge County and the City of Lexington. Bacteria monitoring data collected by the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has shown that Woods Creek does not meet Virginia’s water quality standard for bacteria. Woods Creek was added to Virginia’s list of impaired waters in 2014 and the TMDL study was completed in 2017. An Implementation Plan is being developed to identify corrective actions needed to meet water quality standards and the associated costs, benefits, and environmental impacts. The purpose of this meeting is to review and provide feedback on a draft Implementation Plan, which has been developed based on input received during a series of Working Group meetings. If you have any questions regarding the Steering Committee, this meeting, or the Woods Creek TMDL Implementation Plan project, please contact Sara Bottenfield via phone, email, or conventional mail using the information listed at the bottom of this notice. | |
