Purpose of the meeting The second meeting of the Urban/Residential Sector Working Group for the Woods Creek Watershed Bacteria Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) Implementation Plan development project will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2018. The Woods Creek watershed includes parts of Rockbridge County and the City of Lexington. Bacteria monitoring data collected by the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has shown that Woods Creek does not meet Virginia’s water quality standard for bacteria. Woods Creek was added to Virginia’s list of impaired waters in 2014 and the TMDL study was completed in 2017. An Implementation Plan is being developed to identify corrective actions needed to meet water quality standards and the associated costs, benefits, and environmental impacts. The purpose of this meeting is to review and discuss scenarios for implementation of urban and residential Best Management Practices in the watershed to meet water quality standards. The scenarios have been developed based on input received at the first Working Group meeting. If you have any questions regarding the Working Group, this meeting, or the Woods Creek TMDL Implementation Plan project, please contact Sara Bottenfield via phone, email, or conventional mail using the information listed at the bottom of this notice. Please note, in case of inclement weather, the meeting will be held at the same time and location on Tuesday, December 18, 2018. | |
