Summary |
This Directive transmits to field personnel federal OSHA’s revised final rule on Cranes & Derricks in Construction, & related standards. CHANGE II: Brings all crane & derrick use in construction under new Subpart CC of Part 1926, corrects errors in the final rule that substantively altered the demolition & underground construction provisions, & restores subparagraphs §1926.800(t)(1) through (4). CHANGE III: Clarifies employer obligations by applying a single Cranes & Derricks Standard to all construction. CHANGE IV: Transmits the revised exemption for digger derricks. CHANGE V: Extends for an added 3 years the employer duty to ensure crane operator certification. CHANGE VI: Extends for an additional year the employer duty to ensure crane operator competency for construction work and the date for requiring crane operator certification. |
