The Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Storage Tank Program investigates reports of petroleum releases and ensures they are characterized and cleaned up to prevent risk to human health and the environment. When a tank owner or operator is unknown, unable, or unwilling to investigate and clean up a petroleum release, the DEQ, through its State Lead Contractors conducts work related to characterizing and cleaning up the release. The purpose of the State Lead Procedures Manual is to provide staff with standard
operating procedures for managing sites within the State Lead Program. |
