Emergency Extension Request
Enhanced Ambulatory Patient Group Out Patient Hospital Reimbursement Methodology

On 5/18/2015 the board requested that this emergency stage be extended until 12/30/2015.

Reason for Extension:
This emergency regulation is due to expire June 30, 2015. This extension is required in order for DMAS to continue enforcing the legislative mandate, as set out in the 2013 Acts of the Assembly, Chapter 806, Item 307.XX, and the 2014/2015 Acts of Assembly, Item 301.TT to implement the Enhanced Ambulatory Patient Group (EAPG) reimbursement methodology for outpatient hospital services. As is clear from the Town Hall entry for this project, there have been significant delays in the review of this package as details of the content of the regulatory requirements have been worked out between the Office of the Attorney General and the Department. This package is essential to convert from the current cost-based methodology, which is out-of-date, inefficient, and costly, to the EAPG method.

This stage was approved by the Governor's office on 6/24/2015.
