In a sense, that this discussion is necessary is almost absurd.
1. All reasonable people should agree that any healthcare clinics, especially those that conduct surgeries and other invasive, medical procedures, should be closely monitored and have consistent sanitary and cleanliness regulations.
2. Abortion, regardless of one's political or social beliefs, is clearly an invasive, surgical procedure.
3. The current regulations were passed by the elected General Assembly, the Governor, and after the required public comment periods, the necessary state boards.
4. There have been recent revelations of blood-stained equipment at some of these facilities in Roanoke, as well as minors being given abortions without parental consent. Clearly, oversight and standards are needed to maintain women's health.
