I am providing feedback again today, on the draft CPST regulations and the related assessment instrument – the CANS Lifetime. Overall questions and concerns in regard to CPST implementation and potential negative impact remain. Significant concerns continue to be expressed by Child & Family service providers who have had long-standing experience with administering the CANS as related to CSA-funded services.
Now that a draft version of the CANS Lifetime has been released, when will data regarding validity & reliability measures for this instrument be publicly provided?
When can providers anticipate a state-wide Training Plan to be rolled out?
Will there be affiliated costs and if so, what will those costs entail – one-time training & certification versus annual recertification & subscription?
It is indicated that the ‘CANS will follow the individual’; as such, will there be a state-wide CANS repository … or will current providers be expected to navigate releases of information and obtain the prior CANS from the former provider?
If there is some sort of database, how will individuals’ confidentiality be protected?
Respectfully Submitted,
