I strongly oppose replacing experienced service facilitators with support brokers and reducing the care available to Virginia's most vulnerable citizens. Here in Hampton Roads, we work directly with families who depend on compassionate, consistent, quality care for their loved ones. Our residential care experience has shown us that families need more support, not additional barriers, reduced services, or fewer qualified professionals. These programs also provide meaningful employment to dedicated caregivers who serve our communities every day. I urge Virginia lawmakers to protect parental caregivers, preserve service facilitators and case coordinators, and ensure that Medicaid recipients receive care based on their actual needs—not arbitrary limits or cost-cutting measures.
