No to Brokers — Do Our Families and Their Choices Still Matter?

Protect Individualized Care and Prevent Service Disruptions

Transitioning to a corporate brokerage model could create unnecessary administrative barriers, reduce individualized oversight, and compromise the personal relationships that are essential to supporting vulnerable individuals. Such a shift risks treating participants as numbers rather than people with unique needs, potentially resulting in significant service disruptions and weakening the safety net they depend on.

 Preserve Consumer Choice and Autonomy

Eliminating an established, choice-based network undermines the fundamental principles of consumer-directed care. Waiver recipients and their families should retain the right to select independent service facilitators who understand their individual needs, advocate for their interests, and provide personalized support. Consumer choice should remain at the center of care decisions, not be sacrificed for administrative convenience or corporate consolidation.
