As a concerned Grandparent who has watched the decline in service hours and thus the care my grandchild receives, please keep a service facilitator role vs a broker. The broker works for the insurance company and is bias to ensure services are not covered. Facilitators assist the client, employers and attendants through a very complex system. The facilitator is impartial and is looking out for the client, which is imperative. The clients have medical concerns that require attention to detail on a quick timeline.
I see first hand the decrease in service hours impact, the regression and inability to provide the necessary medical and supervision to keep my grandchild safe.
