Independent Service Facilitators

To Whom it May Concern-

My name is Shannon Ray, and I became very sick, very fast about 2 years ago. I had no idea how to navigate the DMAS system. I understood I had Medicaid but I was unaware the benefits that were available to me. I had a nurse come out and do an assessment and it was determined I need a caregiver, and in turn an Independent Service Facilitator. This is one of the most confusing processes if you have never done it before. If I had not had this company to help me navigate, I would have been completely lost. They came out to my house because I could not drive, and walked me and my husband through everything. Once you are all set up, they call you each month and get updates and check in on you to make sure you are still understanding how everything works. These companies are needed for the simple fact that I am 45 and could barely understand this. Imagine an elderly person trying to figure this out. It’s impossible. Not to mention they are very kind and patient when answering all questions. Anytime I have texted they respond in a timely manner as well to answer my questions. These companies are an asset and should be treated as such. Thank you.
