I do support this petition to establish a temporary moratorium on the fishing of menhaden by the purse seine technique for a period of time until studies can be performed that establish the safe number of Manhattan that can be removed from the Chesapeake Bay. Currently the level of menhaden fish being removed from the Chesapeake Bay exceeds the amount to support the ecology  of the bay and a healthy fishery for larger fish.  
Commercial and sport fishing for larger fish supports  the economy and families up and down the entire length of the bay.
