It appears these social media and environmental groups want all fishing to stop while they have someone study their alleged issue. If this petition is approved they will be the first ones to fight any funding attempt and delay the resumption of purse seine fishing.  It is the wrong thing to do!

This would decimate the few remaining purse seine bait operations who supply Virginia Watermen with bait, as well as, many of the eastern coast state fisheries.   The purse seine fishery in Virginia does not need these types of obstructionist petitions moving forward.

VMRC should reject this petition!
