There’s a system in place to manage the Menhaden stock along the entire Atlantic coast, including the Chesapeake Bay. The stock is not overfished and overfishing is not occurring. The bay quota has been set by Federal regulations and monitored by VMRC. Only when science indicates revision is necessary should they mess with it.
