Miss the Osprey

I live on the Mobjack, mouth of Rowe Creek, Severn River.  Have lived here for over 25 years.  Always eagerly anticipate the return of the Osprey.  Track it, usually between March 7th and 11th.  Used to have lots of these beautiful birds over my house.  The last several years they have declined to the point that last year we had none.  This is a crime and a sin against nature.

Also, I no longer have peanut bunker in my cove.  Is it possible that Menhaden return to the the same place where they were hatched and all of the Mobjack stock has been removed?  We don't know by your very admission.

What's wrong with a three year moratorium so we can see and track any positive changes?

Is it true that one of the captain's of these purse seine vessels is our Congressman Whitman's son?  Is it true that this company pays everyone of our state legislatures so that they  can keep this damaging practice going?

I ask you to do the right, correct thing that you know is true.  Most of the workers at the reduction plant are seasonal workers that receive unemployment.  Think of the value in tax dollars that Factory Point would bring to the county if it was redeveloped.  How much monies do the recreational fisherman spend?  10 years ago during Rockfish season you could turn in a circle and count 200 boats.  How much were they worth in taxes.  They are gone, no Rockfish left.

Make the correct moral and economic decision, PLEASE.
