Menhaden overfishing has been an issue in our Virginia waters for several years and something must change! Future generations will never be able to experience the great fishing in our waters that I grew up on if there’s nothing left to catch. It has been scientifically proven that many of our native and migratory species feed off of the menhaden. Limits need to be put into place for these commercial vessels such as a reduced quota, no spotter planes or pushing the vessels offshore!
