I support this petition and ask that you expand the moratorium to include the Chesapeake Bay and all Virginia coastal waters. It would be shame for Omega to reposition their ships to scoop up the menhaden at the entrance to the bay. I boat and fish in Mathews County and have witnessed the loss of ospreys. We had maybe one bird on Stutts Creek and a couple empty nests. This is very unusual. It has become difficult to catch rockfish. Local crabbers are unable to get bait for their crabpots. Protecting menhaden in Virginia is essential to the health and economy of the Bay!
