I live in Loudoun County and I oppose Petition 432.
This petition is not about locker rooms. The Board of Health has no business labeling groups of people harmful based on who they are.
There are real public health issues facing women and girls in Virginia, like domestic violence, maternal health, and poverty. I am a woman living in Virginia and I have never felt threatened by trans people in any way. You know who I do feel threatened by? Straight men, every single day. If you actually cared about women’s well being, you would focus on laws preventing domestic violence, increasing opportunities for women, legally requiring maternity leave and paid childcare, etc. — any number of laws that would actually help our lives, not this discriminatory waste of taxpayers’ dollars and time. Don’t dress up your lies and propaganda as being pro-women’s safety. Making it sound nice doesn’t make you a good person — you are still fundamentally taking people’s rights away.
Don’t let this hateful petition distract from your important mission to protect the health and promote the well-being of ALL people in Virginia.
