I am the 76-year-old wife of an incredible trans woman. We've been married for 34 years, and she transitioned from male to female at age 62, nearly 14 years ago. I supported my mate completely in transitioning, after watching her struggle and suffer for the first 20 years of our relationship. It was a struggle that she'd endured most of her life.
My spouse is a retired orthopedic surgeon, much loved, admired, and appreciated for her skills as a surgeon and her intellect, wisdom, experience, kindness, compassion, sense of humor, and much more! She served in the military, is trained as a pilot and scuba diver. She played soccer (as a man) at the College of William & Mary, from which she holds her undergraduate degree. She practiced orthopedics for over 40 years and was beloved and admired by medical staffs wherever she worked, as well as being Chief of Surgery in a Massachusetts hospital.
My spouse is a most incredible mate, a loving parent and stepparent to 6 grown children, and a terrific grandparent to our five grandkids. This is an exemplary human being, and the world is a better place for her existence! Why anyone would choose to hate, malign, and attempt to restrict the lives of transgender individuals in any way is beyond me, particularly in those who purport to be Christians. It's time to back out of the lives of others who are in no way harming you, your children, or anyone!
We would both be happy to testify publicly at any time!
