Opposing Petition 432 | Protecting All Women Means Protecting All Women

I am writing in strong opposition to the proposed policy changes that would restrict access to sports and public spaces based on so-called “biological sex.” In the end this ultimately places ALL women at risk of harm, discrimination, and unjust scrutiny.

Recent cases show how poorly defined, fear-driven policies like these often backfire and result in policing women’s appearances and behavior, not protecting them

Just TWO WEEKS ago!! A women, born female at birth, was kicked out of Liberty Hotel in Boston. Why? Because she was taller and had short hair. How is that enough to condemn someone. What about women with PCOS, which can naturally increase testosterone levels. Women with skin and hair conditions where they would prefer to have it cut short. We are rolling back womens freedom of expression to the 1960's!!

And for the "protecting" children angle. In 2023 in BC a 9 year girl, FEMALE AT BIRTH, was harrassed by an old man off the field because he "thought" she was trans and demanded to see some proof of her sex / genitalia. Why? BECAUSE SHE HAD SHORT HAIR. This is crazy!

These kinds of policies don’t protect women. They just give people an excuse to harass anyone who doesn’t fit some outdated, narrow idea of what a woman is supposed to look like. They open the door for strangers, security guards, school officials, ANYONE,  to interrogate, humiliate, or kick women out of spaces for not “looking right.” That’s not safety. That’s just public surveillance dressed up as concern.
