The "direct harm" the complainants refer to is missing out on a medal, although the wording would imply much worse. Yet, these anti-trans measures could result in all female athletes having to undergo intrusive exams before competing - which surely can't be the intention of the complainants!
Please read "The VHSL's transgender policy, and the harmful myth of a 'war' on women's sports," Richmond Times-Dispatch, 02/14/25. Per that article, "at the college level, this 'war' is being waged by, at most, 0.00002% of student-athletes...."
There are so many dangers in trying to apply a sweeping legislative solution to a problem that would be much better dealt with on a case-by-case basis with empathy shown to all sides.
