Every one needs to take a deep breath. Biological women are not under threat from the trans population. The number of trans athletes is very small. We should be celebrating athletes of all makes rather than keeping some people from playing. It would be better if we designed teams by ability and didn’t worry about gender or sex. That way, more people have the opportunity to compete. Barring that, I see no reason why a person can’t try out for the team that makes them the most comfortable.
As for trans women and girls in bathrooms and locker rooms, I don’t have a problem with that either. As a biological female, I have been in co-ed changing rooms and locker rooms without incident. The international community is far less freaked out by nudity than Americans and my daughters (now grown) have been with me changing in mixed spaces when they were young. It’s not a big deal. I don’t mind sharing spaces with trans women and girls.
