I live in the City of Richmond and I am in favor of Petition 432.

This petition is about protecting women and girls. The Board of Health needs to provide the safety and dignity of all females in the State of Virginia.

This is a real public health issue facing women and girls in Virginia. This petition is Incredibly important to protect the health, safety, and promote the well-being of all women and girls in Virginia.

As a lesbian and former athlete, this petition is so important for women and girls in Virginia. Women have fought for the right to have a fair playing field in athletics, spaces and opportunities for the past 50 years. There was a time when women and girls had wait for the men to finish playing then the women were allowed play on the court or on the field. Women and girls had to fund raise for uniforms, trophies, and medals. Moms and dads coached the teams and organized matches, meets or games. There was any money for women’s sports or scholarships for women and girls as well. Until a group of women helped draft the bill, got Congress to pass it and President Nixon signed it into law on June 23, 1972. Prohibiting SEX discrimination in any educational or program or financial aid. Giving women and girls for the first time in centuries to have access to competitive opportunities they rarely had before. Today, certain groups want to turn back time and deny women and girls those opportunities by allowing males to compete against women. To take away their trophies, awards, placement, records and scholarships. These same boys are also entering women's and girls’ locker rooms/restrooms watching them undress in these facilities. What happened to the dignity and respect for women in this private spaces. Any boy can self-identity as a girl which will make all the women and girls uncomfortable and potentially a victim to a sexual assault. We have seen this play out in Loudoun County, not once, but twice. There are women and girls who are victims of these crimes or sexual harassment and now certain groups want to force women to share their space against their will with males. All this is doing is victimizing them all over again. Males have their spaces and sports, why must women and girls constantly accommodate males in their wants. Don't women and girls have a say in their own autonomy, their safety, their dignity and their self-respect? Stand with women and girls on this petition. Allow them to continue to have a fair playing field and safe facilities free from males who have serious mental health issues.
