My name is Joshua. I am a resident of Virginia, in the Fredericksburg area. I am writing to oppose petition 432.

I am friends with several transgender women, whom this petition would refer to as "biological males", a phrase as meaningless as it is bigoted. Biology is not so simple, nor is society. To say that my friends are no threat to women is an understatement. There are few I know who are as adamant in the defense of the rights and health of women as my friends.

Not just them, though- I know of few to no incidents of transgender women being an actual threat of any kind to teammates or opponents in sport. It is a non-issue being addressed as a threat, to the point of trying to deem a group of people a "hazard" to women's health based on an inherent attribute. It's appalling that someone would dare to make such a statement in private, much less in an official petition to a government entity.

I thoroughly encourage total opposition to this petition. May it be discarded and forgotten, and may those who wrote it reflect on the harm their actions could have caused.
