432 affects everyone, not just transgender women

I live in Richmond and I oppose Petition 432.

I am a transgender man and urge you to consider the following: Would you be comfortable imposing the opposite? Would you be comfortable with someone such as myself, who has a full beard, removed his breasts, and short hair, being confined to using women's facilities/women's sports because of how I was born? Would you automatically assume that I am a transgender woman trying to take advantage?

Would you also target cisgender women who do not dress or look "feminine" enough due to this on suspect of them being transgender?

I think you can see what kind of doors this opens and what precedent it sets, and "protection" has nothing to do with it.

I think we can all agree that most people just want to go about our lives. Focus on implementing some real legislation here that will actually help women, such as assisting those in poverty, domestic violence, family planning/care etc. instead of the posturing and othering of marginalized groups who just want to go about their day. This is more garbage to distract us from the real issues at hand that affect ALL, regardless if you are transgender or not, and I urge others to think for a moment on what they want to INCLUDE in their lives instead of EXCLUDE.
