I strongly oppose these excluders being put in commercial pots for many reasons. Cost, time consumption, maintenance, reduced catch and the previous inquiry into panels like these in 2018. This report does the same thing as was done in 2018 and was proven by the CBSAC that they skewed and mislead the public with information that was either proven false or skewed badly enough that 14 fellow scientists came to the conclusion that the information was false enough to not be used by the VMRC. As a lifetime commercial fisherman I have encountered 0 turtles while fishing an average of 400 pots daily throughout the season for years.
