Description This chapter contains the rules and regulations governing the Motor Vehicle Inspection Program. All Official Motor Vehicle Inspection Stations are required to comply with the requirements of this regulation, which are contained in the Official Annual Motor Vehicle Inspection Manual.

Goals of Regulation (1) All Official Motor Vehicle Inspection Stations comply with the rules and regulations of the Virginia Inspection Program and issue approval certificates only to those vehicles that meet the requirements of the program.

(2) Maintain consistency with state law, federal regulations, and accepted automotive standards.
