Action:
MOUD Central Registry
Action 7071
General Information
| Action Summary |
The Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) intends to require medication for opioid use disorder (MOUD) treatment services to participate in a central registry system. The purpose of the central registry system will be to: expedite the admission process by verification of medication and dose, prevent an individual from simultaneously enrolling in more than one MOUD treatment service, facilitate disaster response, allow access to treatment during emergencies throughout the Commonwealth, and ensure accurate data reporting and dispensing of medication in accordance with state and federal laws and regulations. Therefore, participation in the central registry system will help protect the health, welfare and safety of Virginians. |
