Action:
Regulatory Reduction for Standards for Licensed Child-Placing Agencies
Action 6848
General Information
| Action Summary |
The Standards for Licensed Child-Placing Agencies, 22VAC40-131, provide requirements for the public and Department of Social Services to evaluate the safety and stability of care provided to children and youth from licensed child-placing agencies.
This action proposes technical edits and amendments that reduce regulatory burden on licensed child-placing agencies by clarifying and removing repetitive, obsolete, and overly prescriptive requirements in accordance with Executive Directive One (2022) and Executive Order 19 (2022). The amendments will also provide consistency with the Foster and Adoptive Home Approval Standards for Local Departments of Social Services, 22VAC40-211 and the definitions in ยง 63.2-100 of the Code of Virginia.
