General Information
Action Summary This regulatory action serves as the second phase of a two-part sequence of amendments to the home inspector regulatory program. Currently, home inspectors are regulated through a voluntary certification program. Laws enacted during the 2016 General Assembly Session mandated that home inspectors be licensed by the Virginia Board for Asbestos, Lead, and Home Inspectors (“the Board”) by July 1, 2017.

Executive Branch Review This Action is exempt from Article 2 of the Administrative Process Act. The normal executive branch review process is not required. As such, it can be submitted directly for publication and is effective upon publication.
