General Information
Action Summary The Department is amending its “Standard Fees for Use of Department of Conservation and Recreation Facilities, Programs, and Services” Regulations including Parking and launch fees (4 VAC 5-36-50); Admission fees (4 VAC 5-36-60); Swimming fees (4 VAC 5-36-70); Camping fees (4 VAC 5-36-90); Cabin fees (4 VAC 5-36-100); Picnic shelters and event tents fees (4 VAC 5-36-110); Amphitheater and gazebo fees (4 VAC 5-36-120); Boat storage fees (4 VAC 5-36-130); Interpretive canoe, boat, and paddleboat fees (4 VAC 5-36-140); Interpretive and educational tours and program fees (4 VAC 5-36-150); Outdoor skill program fees (4 VAC 5-36-160); Miscellaneous rental fees (4 VAC 5-36-200); Conference center and meeting facility fees (4 VAC 5-36-210); and Administrative and processing fees (4 VAC 5-36-220). Increases and changes to these State Park System standard rates and prices represent: 1) revisions to maintain fair market value and demand for services; 2) adjustments to camping and cabin fees to provide for a 15% fee differential between the Base Fee and Virginia Resident Fee; 3) the addition of new facilities and offerings; 4) updates to ensure consistency with the private sector; 5) the deletion of fees that have become obsolete as there is no longer demand for a service; 6) revisions to reflect private concessionaires’ new seasonal prices; 7) reasonable increases to offset growing maintenance costs; and 8) updates to ensure formatting consistency.
