Oppose. CPS is full of pedophiles and facilitators. Make it harder to search not easier.

CPS is corrupted.

Keep the notary requirement.  It is an important safeguard and a minor inconvenience for the applicant.

Support

As a former foster parent, occasional transportation provider, and current church volunteer, I support efforts to make the central registry system check more efficient and accessible.

It can be onerous to schedule time with a notary, even when there's one on your church or business staff. I know that children in protective care thrive with consistency, but I can't offer my services as a driver until I jump through the notary hoop.

There's no reason for that in today's digital age. Notary services are valuable for other purposes, but in this case they serve as a barrier to ensuring children are safe.

Totally agree with proposal to omit notary

My feeling is that if you were convicted of a crime, then it should be searchable with a reasonable cause.  Such as foster care agencies, schools, day cares - they are legitimate needs and Virginia should make it easier to obtain records on the violators.  If a person doesn't have any records, then what are they afraid of?

I totally agree and also would like the process to be electronically submitted for faster responses.  It takes 30 days and sometimes longer to obtain results back.  In the meantime, the individuals are waiting to become foster parents, or obtain employment.

I don't believe all of social services are bad people but I do believe they've a lot of not good people. We can't make it easier on the hood ones without making it easier for the bad ones. Better safe than sorry in my opinion

Oppose - Don't Make it Easier for future Commandeering

Oppose. The last thing this state needs is to make it easier for CPS to become a vehicle for executing hateful, discriminatory policies like those in Texas, something that seems to be a risk everywhere these days as people around the nation trend to a preference for hating their neighbors out of fear and ignorance rather than getting to know each other and live together.

Don't fall for the trap.

Remove Notary Requirement

Support proposal to eliminate notary requirement when submitting cps background checks and will help expedite the process for the foster home approval process.
