Need clearer definitions to "therapeutic goals". There are too many different interpretations of this among inspectors and facilities. Please keep in mind that we are assisted living and not nursing home. We are set up to provide home like care. With ALzheimer's Disease, all we can do is maintain function as long as possisbe. ex. teaching someone to us a spoon or fork after they do not have that ability anymore only causes them anxiety and refusal to eat.

Physicians are having trouble with the wording " serious cognative impairment". Many see serious as end stage in wheel chairs or bed bound. Many higher functioning residents can reconize danger such as fire, know to leave the building, but then may wander off. I think the word serious should be removed and leave the definition in place.
