Continuing Education program

I am a registered engineer in eleven states. Except for a few, all states requires continuing education. I had not only fullfil the requirements but also paas thru the several audits. Based on my experience, It is an excellent way of keeping update with current and advanced technology. The CE credit must be by reciganized organization. ASCE, AISC, ACI, and other organizations offered the courses of added values in the engineering field. Virginia board has recoganize such organization.

New product and new applications seminar offered by the manufacturer also offere CE earning PDH.

So far the seminar I had attended enhance my knwledge base. I am in favor of CE. However, The board should permit carry over of the PDH. Allow engineers to make up the PDH within specified time.

Engineers who considered CE as an extra burden, need to rethink their philosophy. The world is advancing and you need to keep up if you want to provide services you are licence to.
