Guidance Document Change: The Model Policies for the Treatment of Transgender Students in Virginia’s Public Schools guidance document was developed in response to House Bill 145 and Senate Bill 161, enacted by the 2020 Virginia General Assembly, which directed the Virginia Department of Education to develop and make available to each school board model policies concerning the treatment of transgender students in public elementary and secondary schools. These guidelines address common issues regarding transgender students in accordance with evidence-based best practices and include information, guidance, procedures, and standards relating to: compliance with applicable nondiscrimination laws; maintenance of a safe and supportive learning environment free from discrimination and harassment for all students; prevention of and response to bullying and harassment; maintenance of student records; identification of students; protection of student privacy and the confidentiality of sensitive information; enforcement of sex-based dress codes; and student participation in sex-specific school activities, events, and use of school facilities.

I oppose this bill. I want to know what is going on in my children’s school and being taught.

I am Appalled  at the government and governing officials that are trying to take over our home lives and teach stuff that is not ok in my opinion. It is not the government and the public schools to tell my children what sex they are either female or male. I am a parent.  I parent my children. I don’t need the government and the Public schools telling me what gender my child should be.  This is an infringement on my rights as a parent.  I never asked the Public School and government to cross that line of sexual identity. They have crossed that line. If children are struggling with their identity then work with those but you don’t need to subject the whole school to this Institutionalizing of gender.  The public schools and government want to push down our children’s throat that they need to adjust for a small Minority of children that are struggling with their identity. Commonsense has gone out the door I am extremely irritated. With the decision of the governing officials and the public school to cram down ideologies and institutional ways a child should be.  I oppose this Bill strongly. I am so disappointed in a public school. My tax dollars pay to help  keep teachers to teach educated about Science, Math, History and Language arts. The agenda that the public school and the governing officials are doing to our children is far more detrimental to there brains and hearts. All  because the government has an agenda. My children are not your Guinean Pigs.  My tax dollars are paying for children to have an education and NOT for my children to have sexual education. It’s amazing how people try to do out based education and you think this is going to work I believe some of your governing officials and public school educators need to go in and sit in the classroom and see what some of these teachers are dealing with and the students in the classroom. People need to have a reality check because teachers have a passion to teach but now we’re jamming all this junk down their throat about sexuality they don’t have time for that. The teachers worry about test scores because otherwise if they don’t get test scores they lose government funding. And you’re worried about transgender wording because it might offend somebody if you call them  male or female . Also governing officials and public school educators you need to take a step back out of your office and go sit in the classrooms not just for a check in day but for a few weeks to really see what is going on. Watch with the teachers what they have to deal with and you’re worried about wording if a child is male or female. Because it might offend somebody. Also the teachers didn’t go to school to know about mental health issues and a ADD, ADHD and dyslexia and all the stuff that they have to battle every day when they enter that classroom. Children that are having a meltdown because they’re being abused at home. Also the teachers didn’t go to school to know how to deal with medical issues and about mental health issues and ADD, ADHD and dyslexia. These are to name a few that they have to battle every day when they enter that classroom. children that are having a meltdown because they’re being abused at home. Instead of focusing on transgender wording because you’re afraid to hurt somebody or offend them. Why don’t we really take a look at what’s going on as a whole because with a mental health crisis and it’s affecting the children to learn and the teachers because their hands are tied.
