Guidance Document Change: The Model Policies for the Treatment of Transgender Students in Virginia’s Public Schools guidance document was developed in response to House Bill 145 and Senate Bill 161, enacted by the 2020 Virginia General Assembly, which directed the Virginia Department of Education to develop and make available to each school board model policies concerning the treatment of transgender students in public elementary and secondary schools. These guidelines address common issues regarding transgender students in accordance with evidence-based best practices and include information, guidance, procedures, and standards relating to: compliance with applicable nondiscrimination laws; maintenance of a safe and supportive learning environment free from discrimination and harassment for all students; prevention of and response to bullying and harassment; maintenance of student records; identification of students; protection of student privacy and the confidentiality of sensitive information; enforcement of sex-based dress codes; and student participation in sex-specific school activities, events, and use of school facilities.

Transgenderism will destroy the school system

I am strongly opposed to adopting any such policy on transgenderism

Genesis 1:27 reads, "So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them."

Why is this basic human concept, male and female, up for debate?  This proposal will not leave it up to debate.  It will decide against the will of the people and parents and dictate what it is we are to believe and how we are to act.  It will tell parents what is acceptable.  It is no less than a trojan horse of immense proportion that goes beyond the schoolyard directly into our homes and threatens the way we raise our children. One example of the far reaching consequences of such policies would be that parents who encourage their children to embrace their God-given sex would be at risk of being reported for child abuse or neglect by the school. Not since the beginning of human existence has there been a threat to the understanding of human sexuality as male and female. You don't have to be a Christian to understand this truth. The fact that all people are either male or female is in harmony with natural law which every reasonable person accepts. The hypocracy of this effort to re-define human sexuality is in fact that it excludes the area of athletics. What? How on earth do you choose where you want to apply this policy and where you don't?  The implications are obvious.  But don't think it will stop at athletics.  If it all started in the bathrooms and locker rooms it will not stop until it has encompassed every facet of our children's lives, on and off the field and in and out of our schools and homes.  Something tells me they aren't learning about the dangers of Marxism is history class.
