Strongly support continued Statewide Certification for Backflow Device Worker.

This is a critical part in the protection of the public water system. Standardized training and certification is essential to the safety and welfare of the citizens of Virginia. Virginia had a program with local certification and as such were non standard training if any training at all.

Perhaps the board and staff of DPOR would consider inviting the professionals to work with the agency in the effort to properly regulate and enforce this specialized skill and bring Virginia up to the standards necessary for the health and safety of the public.
