you are creating a monster

Gentlemen:

Re: YOU ARE CREATING A MONSTER

I have given up my license in NC because of these unnecessary requirements. I was involved with self study and the state determined that I had to buy courses and take tests in order to keep my license up to date. I called the Executive Director in North Carolina ( who is not a PE ) and explained that I was studying things of interest to me. He told me that I could not do this and only could take courses that the Board approved ( and for which I had to pay large sums of money). SELF STUDY IS NOT ALLOWED.

I politely pointed out to this bureaucrat that he gave credit for Patent issuances WHICH IS ENTIRELY SELF STUDY.

I have worked privately the last four years doing research for a project that will begin this year in the Environmental field. This work is unique and beneficial. I am certain it will not meet your requirements.

If you pass this regulation I will give up my license.
