CONTINUING EDUCATION GOOD.... GOVERNMENT REGULATION BAD

From reading above it is apparent that everybody agrees continuing education is good and necessary to be competent in ones field.  The REAL question is, does a government agency need to regulate this?  Absolutely NOT!

I would like to ask those professionals who posted early, why they support continuing education regulated by the government.  Do they not trust themselves to keep up in their professional field?  Do they need the governments support to make sure they keep themselves competitive in today’s market?  Can they not find appropriate training and the skills needed?  If so, then maybe they are in the wrong career.

As a professional, it is up to the individual to be knowledgeable and competent in the field.  Taking 16 credit hours of mandated courses is not going to make somebody feel they can affix their seal/stamp to a drawing with more confidence.

Thanks for listening.
