Vote NO?

I have been a PE for over 18 years and I recommend that everyone vote against requiring continuing education for maintaining your PE.  Why is continuing education an issue?  Do the lawmakers think that more red tape is needed?  Are there approved courses available throughout the state of Virginia? or do the law makers just want my company to spend more dollars?  Is there a recommended structure to what continuing education is required?  Is there a grandfather clause?  Is there a phase in time table? And many more questions.....

This whole idea of continuing education seems to be poorly thought out and insulting to our competance and ethics.  If we as engineers,  presented work so poorly thought out then maybe this would be an issue.   IDEA => How about the law makers re-address there ability and competance in making this proposal for continuing eduction for PEs, and they will see that they are the ones who need continuing education.  They need to learn how to think out proposals, present them with enough detail and stop wasting tax payers / companies hard earned money.

Vote NO for continuing education.  Thank You.
