I support the Virginia Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists’ petition to revise the regulations governing Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) registration and practice. Allowing the CNS to practice to full extent of their licensure will provide access to quality health care to residents of the Commonwealth of Virginia. The recommendations in the petition clearly differentiates the role of CNS and that of the professional registered nurse. I fully support this petition and urge the Commonwealth of Virginia to provide full practice authority to Clinical Nurse Specialists.
