Stop the Unnecessary Regulation of a Safe Procedure

The unnecesary regulation of 1st trimenster abortions is a thinly guised attempt to force a primarily religious doctrine on all women, regardless of their faith.  The procedure in place for 1st trimester abortions is perfectly safe and every medical professinal knows that.  As a nurse, I am shocked that we are considering turning back the clock on this matter.  I would add that If there were a similar procedure for men, no such burden would be placed on it.  In fact, vasectomies are commonly performed in the urologists' offices with no attempt to make it a "hospital like" procedure.  The only thing this can hope to accomplish is to force women to seek less safe circumstances, as they have in the past.
