Opportunity for Virginia to take Lead in the fight against Climate Change

I am commenting on the proposed " "Reduce and Cap Carbon Dioxide from Fossil Fuel Fired Electric Power Generating Facilities (Rev. C17)"  regulation.  It is a profound and critical responsibility of every Government from local- to national to look to the future and determine how best to protect it -- especially now that the Federal Government has abdicated all responsibilities for the Planet.

I am in support of the proposed regulation -- but I also advocate that you "beef it up".  All carbon emitting fuels should be included, such as bio-mass.   The cap must be much less than 33 million tons per year in 2020  -- and this Cap should be decreased significantly each year to  rapidly reduce carbon pollution.   Support for renewables must be concomittant with the reduction in CO2 levels.  There needs to be more than just goals for reduction -- there needs to be a goal for Virginia to become the first Renewable Energy state.

I also think that as leaders, Virginia should work with WV and NC to have an integrated plan for reduction of fossil fuel use and shared increase in renewables.

The health of our current population and our future population will be impacted by whatever you do here.
