Yes to Physical Therapist performing Dry Needling Therapy. Dry Needling is extremely effective and the education required to become a Physical Therapist support proper procedure. Dry Needling Therapy has nothing to do with Qi, Meridians or Acupressure Points. The education requirements of 1515 hours of Traditional Chinese Medicine and 600 Clinical hours of Acupuncture do not train one for dry needling specific injured areas of the body. There is a reason that my Insurance company covers Physical Therapy and not Acupuncture. This objection by the person's trained in Acupunture is purely financial and could impact healing of specific injuries in a very negative way. Instead of avoiding surgery, more surgery may be required. I have experienced multiple Acupuncture sessions and have required PT for a number of injuries.
