|Action||Promulgation of new regulation banning concealed firearms in executive branch agency offices|
|Comment Period||Ends 1/27/2016|
Do you honestly think a sign prohibiting weapons in a state agency building will prevent a criminal, or a terrorist, or a mentally ill person from entering the building to do harm? If you think there is nothing to fear in the Commonwealth, then why don't you give up your security detail and save us taxpayers some money? Man up.
You don't own these buildings and you don't own us - you were merely elected for a four year term to represent our interests and you have failed- again. Your actions endanger all law abiding citizens of Virginia. Please do your job and protect us, not put us in danger in time when there are people coming here to do us great harm. Allow the good law abiding citizens of the Commonwealth to carry our weapons wherever we please - if we feel it is necessary to feel and be safe.
Everyone in Virginia knows you are only using this position as a stepping stone to higher office and I pray everynight you have won your last election. You want to make toll roads, stop citizens from protecting themselves, and turn us all into sheep in the hopes that we will blindly follow you. Not happening Mac.
We have the right to protect ourselves and our families from harm at the hands of those who wish to hurt us. Don't take this away from us by this stupid ban which will only serve to make our state agency buildings "gun free zones" for citizens and ripe hunting grounds for criminals and terrorists. Criminals and terrorists know law abiding citizens will follow this stupid ban and leave their weapons behind becasue we ARE LAW ABIDING people. Take a walk at night through downtown Richmond without your security detail and see how it feels to be vulnerable. You work and live your life in safe places, protected by armed men and woman. We citizens don't have that luxury and if we can't protect ourselves, we have to wait for the police to arrive and those minutes waiting can be the difference between life and death. The police officers in Virginia are dedicated and appreciated, but they can't be everywhere at every moment to protect us. We MUST be able to protect ourselves. This ban will deny us this right to be safe and secure and it puts innocent people's lives in danger. If a criminal or a terrorists harms someone in one of your "gun fee zones" -it will be your fault because it may have been preventable without your ban.
I hope this attempt to endanger us fails - in fact I hope everything you try to do until you leave office fails. I look foward to the day you and the rest of your carpet-bagging friends and family leave the Commonwealth. Its sad that the Commonwealth will be left in a much worse condition than it was in when you arrived but at least you will be gone. You may think you are doing good, but you are not so please stop.
I know you will never read this but it sure felt good to write it.
