The affirmation boxes should be retained, both for affirmation, identification, and facilitation of later voter fraud investigation, if warranted.  I cannot imagine our Governor's appointees suggesting removal of such affirmation boxes from firearms purchaser forms, where they serve a similar purpose.  Why propose to remove them from voter forms?  A cynic might suggest it is to facilitate voter fraud; while that might be unfair, such removal certainly increases the likelhood of decreased identification of voters and any subsequent, necessary voter fraud investigation after the fact.  And what comes next, should this effort to remove affirmations succeed?  Are the Governor's appointees on the road to elimination of citizenship requirements for voting, restoration of all felons' voting rights, a prohibition against requiring identification at the polls, and perhaps allowing anyone in the country at all (or submitting an absentee ballot) to vote?  And to what end?  This is a slippery slope based on very flimsy reasoning that has yet to be satisfactorily explained.  Retain the affirmation boxes, and maintain the existing voting eligibilities set forth by law.  Thank you.
