I currently care for my cousin that is disabled. He needs help 100% of the time and unfortunately can’t do anything himself. Eat, drink, go to the bathroom (he wears diapers 24/7), shower, wash clothes, brush teeth, and everything in between that we all take for granted. He relies on us to do everything which of course we don’t mind but it is a 24/7 job that we all take turns doing. When these hours get cut we’ll most likely lose a caregiver which isn’t fair.
You should definitely look into this again and realize you’re not just hurting a couple people. This goes beyond that. Caregiving isn’t a job that you can just stop doing once they go to sleep. Because someone does the night duty. The diaper changes don’t stop once the lights go off.
